The talking is officially over. The atmosphere was electric this evening as fighters from across the globe took to the scales for the historic, inaugural Muay Thai Grand Prix (MTGP) Malta.
Co-promoted by Malta Fight Co. and Fight Science Gozo, this landmark event represents a monumental milestone for the Mediterranean combat sports scene. To ensure everything is executed to world-class standards, MTGP CEO Philip Tieu is on the island personally overseeing the production, bringing the unmistakable prestige of the global MTGP brand directly to our shores.
With five massive title shots on the line and an incredible production setup waiting inside the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavilion, the energy at the scales proved that every athlete is primed for war.
Fighters hailing from Malta, Sicily, France, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands successfully hit their marks, locking eyes in intense, spine-chilling face-offs.
The card features an unbelievable mix of seasoned pros and explosive rising talent. In the upper weight classes, Isaac Borg (BOOM COMBAT FORGE) and Gozo’s own Noah Pearson (Fight Science Gozo) looked like absolute powerhouses on the scales. Local heavy hitters Kyle Vella and Edward Pace Bonello locked in their bounds at the 80kg limit, ready to show out for the home crowd.
The lighter divisions brought pure intensity. Professional Muay Thai standouts Elisabetta Solinas (12W-9L) and Malta’s undefeated Ahweafa Garenne (4W-0L) looked shredded and hyper-focused. Meanwhile, the K1 division promises absolute fireworks as Italy’s Aurora Calanna and Malta’s Ritmay Spiteri looked flawless, setting the stage for a classic cross-border rivalry. From veteran campaigners like Michael Milazzo and Badr Ghazi to hungry amateur prospects ready to make a name for themselves, every single face-off delivered pure theatrical drama.
An international spectacle of this magnitude simply does not happen without an incredible network of support. We have been deeply honored to receive official well-wishes and backing from the prestigious WBC Muay Thai, cementing this event’s status on the world stage:
The stage is set at the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavilion for a historic night that will change Maltese combat sports forever. If you don’t have a ticket, make sure to lock in your access to our Global Live Stream to catch all five title fights live from anywhere in the world.
